Dx3 2017: What not to miss

March 2nd, 2017 | by Steve Falk, President of Prime Data |

shutterstock_252199990It’s less than a week until the 2017 edition of Dx3 kicks off in Toronto. And as Canada’s biggest digital marketing expo, it brings the best and brightest from multiple industries together to discuss the online marketplace for business both today AND tomorrow.

This year we’re showing off our ResponsivePrint™ tool that uses workflow automation and programmatic strategies to trigger real-time personalized variable printed mail pieces when a customer abandons a shopping cart. It’s a very cool piece of technology that provides new revenue to eCommerce businesses.

But the great thing about Dx3 is the opportunity it provides for us to find out where technology is going from some of the educational sessions as well as fellow exhibitors.

This year we’re a bit of a hybrid as I participate in a panel discussing the re-emergence of analog technology as a viable marketing tool in the digital age.

Here are some of the other highlights I’m very keen to check out.

Auto Lab

In 2016, Dx3 partnered with Tobii Pro to understand how people consume content on screens. This year, they’re moving into the physical world with The Auto Lab, studying how one visually consumes the physical features of a product on the path to purchase.

This will help better understand how visual attention and physical interaction with vehicles might be influenced by previous exposure to that vehicle.

And with a pair of eye-tracking glasses, everyone can play!

Speakers

Generally with this type of blog, I would talk about specific sessions I think folks should attend. But I’m going to take a different tack this time out and point out some interesting speakers instead. While their sessions should be good, these are people I’d really like to hear and meet.

Jessica Weisz is the Chief Customer Officer at SoapBox

It’s a collaboration software for enterprise that turns employee input into improved engagement and business performance. Jessica is passionate about the power of  relationships and how motivated employees can be a powerful differentiator.

Also, you gotta like a person with credentials ranging from McKinsey to BMO and the Board of Girl Guides.

Jessica’s session:

The Inputs of Innovation: How Big Enterprise Can Succeed

Applying Innovation

March 8, 2017

2:00pm – 3:00pm

Lauren Steinberg is the Senior Director of Digital and eCommerce Marketing at Loblaws.ca

The word on the street is groceries are the next big thing in eCommerce. Loblaws is certainly positioned to be a big player and Lauren sits in a nice place to separate what’s actually happening from the hype.

On a day-to-day basis, she leads a team that develops marketing strategies, customer acquisition + retention and creative direction for all of the digital properties operated by Loblaw Digital.

Lauren’s session:

Technology in Store, Lessons from Food Retail
March 9, 2017
10:00am – 10:45am

Exhibitors

And finally the exhibitors. Exhibitors get no love. But the exhibitor hall is THE place to find some of the most innovative solutions at any event. And Dx3 is no different. Here are two that I’m definitely planning to visit.

BRIKA

Having studied art in school, I’m partial to anything that brings business and artisans together for mutual benefit.

Brika connects highly talented artisans with creative and conscientious consumers.

In addition to beautiful, well-crafted goods, you’ll find inspiration within their creative community — a place for every person who inspires, or is inspired by, the power of following your passions.

RETREAVER

This is another analog approach. Harness the power of the phone for positive customer experiences, intuitive sales, and better ROI in marketing operations.

Engineering personalization, relevance, and context into calls leads to exceptional customer experience and increased sales and marketing ROI.

Save on admission with our promo code
